ABOUT THE SPEAKER
Dr. Richard Ignacy is a distinguished academic currently serving as a lecturer in the Department of Malay Studies at the Institute of Teacher Education (IPG), Malay Language Campus, Kuala Lumpur. A dedicated scholar, he earned his Bachelor of Education from Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) in 2006, followed by a Master of Arts in Malay Language Education and Literature from Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) in 2020. In 2025, he successfully completed his Doctorate in Malay Language at UPM as a full-time researcher under the prestigious Federal Training Award (HLP) from the Ministry of Education Malaysia. His doctoral work was highly acclaimed, earning him the Outstanding Thesis recognition and the Bronze Bitara Award (Third Best Overall) at the I-MiND Innovation Competition. Renowned for his contributions to educational pedagogy, Dr. Richard is the creator of the Modul CeMat and the founder of the UMIBaKaP technique, Teknik Ulang-Ulang, and P.SiAM methods, specifically designed to aid primary and secondary students in sentence construction. Recognized as a finalist at the Ministry of Education’s National Innovation Competition in 2020 and named the 2021 Innovative Teacher by the Perak State Education Department. With nearly 60 published literary works and research presentations delivered at international seminars in Berlin and Tokyo, Dr. Richard stands as a leading figure in Malay language innovation and education.
ABSTRACT
Title: Interactive Writing Classrooms: Leveraging Canva Web and Formulaic Techniques for Instant Digital Feedback
In the era of digital education, maintaining student engagement in essay writing while providing timely teacher feedback remains a significant pedagogical challenge. This presentation introduces an innovative digital writing ecosystem designed to transform traditional language classrooms using Canva and a structured writing formula known as the P.SiAM technique. Developed specifically for primary school students, this innovation transitions essay writing from paper to a dynamic, interactive web-based platform built entirely within Canva. The core of this innovation relies on a dual-component approach: an instructional module guiding students through the P.SiAM formula to systematically construct simple sentences, and a digital canvas that allows students to type their essays live while enabling teachers to provide instant, interactive feedback. Attendees of this session will discover how this practical fusion of formulaic pedagogy and accessible digital tools can boost student writing confidence, streamline the grading process for educators, and create a highly collaborative virtual learning environment. Ultimately, this presentation demonstrates that with creative integration, modern web tools can turn writing from a passive task into an engaging, digitally responsive experience.

Dr. Irianti Usman, M.A. is a distinguished academic and psychology practitioner with extensive experience in higher education and human resource development. She earned her Bachelor's degree in English Teaching from IKIP Teachers College, Padang, Indonesia, before pursuing graduate studies at Ball State University, Muncie, Indiana, USA, where she obtained a Master of Arts in Educational Psychology and a Doctorate in Higher Education and Educational Leadership with a minor in Educational Psychology. Currently, Dr. Irianti serves as Dean of the Faculty of Social Humanities and Psychology Lecturer at Muhammadiyah University of Bandung. As a recognized expert in Islamic Psychology, she actively contributes to advancing psychological scholarship grounded in Islamic values. Beyond academia, Dr. Irianti is a dynamic entrepreneur. She serves as CEO of Biro Psikologi Nusara, leads YES Learning Village (Your English School Bandung), and owns the culinary business Dendeng Batokok & Warung Lodeh. She holds multiple professional certifications, including Certified Life Coach, Certified Neuro Linguistic Program (NLP) Trainer, Certified DEPTH Therapy & TAZKIYA Therapy practitioner, and Certified Maqasid Methodology Practitioner — a combination that reflects her deep commitment to holistic personal development rooted in both scientific rigor and spiritual values.
ABSTRACT
Title: The Fractured Sisterhood: Unveiling the Dark Side of Female Rivalry at Work
This study aims to analyze the transformation of empathic communication and spiritual coping mechanisms in mitigating the impact of relational aggression on the psychosomatic well-being of female workers, using the integrative framework of Maqashid al-Shariah. The phenomenon of toxic femininity in the workplace frequently manifests as covert aggression, producing tangible effects on employees' physical health. Employing a qualitative phenomenological approach, data were collected through in-depth interviews with four Muslim professional women and analyzed using NVivo software. Findings indicate that relational aggression encompassing symbolic sabotage, social exclusion, and hierarchical dominance, triggers serious psychosomatic manifestations, including nerve disorders, chronic migraines, and mental exhaustion. Although spiritual coping mechanisms (prayer and dhikr) provide personal resilience, their effectiveness is constrained by the absence of systemic organizational support. This study proposes a Maqashid al-Shariah integration model specifically the principle of Hifz al-Nafs (protection of the soul) as an ethical foundation for organizational communication aimed at creating a psychologically safe work environment. The transformation toward empathic communication and equitable organizational policy is pivotal in breaking the cycle of toxicity and sustaining the productivity and health of female workers.

Major Dr. Fazlinah Mohd is a military officer, strategic researcher, and leadership practitioner specialising in international strategy and geopolitics, communication security, and operational leadership. Her work integrates military experience with strategic thinking to strengthen organisational adaptability and decision-making in complex environments. She holds a PhD focused on the Pivot to Asia strategy, with research interests in geopolitics, strategic competition, governance, and military transformation. At the international level, she was selected as a delegate to the 49th Indo-Pacific Armies Management Seminar (IPAMS), a high-level multinational forum co-hosted by the Malaysian Army and the United States Army involving military leaders from 31 countries to advance regional security dialogue and defence cooperation. Her leadership philosophy emphasises human-centric leadership, communication integrity, cognitive resilience, and strategic adaptation in navigating today’s dynamic environment.

Contemporary leaders are operating within an increasingly complex environment shaped by information abundance, accelerated decision cycles, and continuous cognitive disruption. In this context, leadership can no longer rely solely on authority, technical expertise, or conventional management models. Instead, effective leadership requires the integration of human understanding, communication integrity, and strategic adaptability to sustain performance and trust under conditions of uncertainty.
This keynote presentation, From Battlefield to Boardroom, explores how principles developed through military leadership experience can offer practical insights for contemporary organisational and executive environments. Drawing from perspectives across operational leadership, research engagement, and strategic communication, the session examines how leaders navigate complexity by maintaining clarity of purpose, reducing informational noise, and strengthening human-centred decision-making.
The presentation argues that communication integrity has become a strategic capability rather than a supporting function, particularly in environments characterised by cognitive overload and rapidly evolving challenges. At the same time, human-centric leadership enables organisations to remain adaptive, resilient, and aligned despite increasing operational and informational pressures.
By connecting battlefield lessons with modern leadership realities, this presentation proposes a practical framework for leading through cognitive transformation; one that prioritises trust, adaptability, strategic awareness, and meaningful human engagement. Ultimately, future-ready leaders must move beyond managing change toward shaping resilient organisations capable of thriving in complexity.
