Language Interpreters: Their Roles and Challenges in Complex Communication Settings

About the Speaker:

Tg Ainul Farha Tg Abdul Rahman is a senior lecturer at the Kolej PERMATA Insan, Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia, Nilai. She also a lifetime member of the Malaysian Association of Applied Linguistics (MAAL). She has a Certificate of General Translation from ITBM, Diploma of Education (Islamic Education) from USIM, B.A. (Hons) in Arabic Language and Islamic Studies from Al- Azhar University, M.A. in Human Sciences (Arabic as Second Language) and Ph.D in Arabic Linguistics Studies from IIUM. Her niche areas in research including Arabic for Specific Purposes, Applied Arabic Linguistics and Arabic and Islamic Studies Education. She also obtained a research grant (FRGS 2019) entitled “Model of Languages and Communication Services in Promoting Medical Tourism”.

KNOWLEDGE MANAGEMENT - WHAT & WHY ?

About the Speaker:

RAJERMANI THINAKARAN received the Bachelor of Science degree in computer science from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM), master’s degree in IT from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM), and Ph.D. degree from UTM. She is currently an Associate Professor with the Faculty of Data Science and Information Technology, INTI International University, Negeri Sembilan, Malaysia. She supervises both undergraduate and postgraduate students (master’s and Ph.D. levels). She has more than 30 papers in international and local journals, international and national conference proceedings, as well as book chapters and lecture notes. Her research interests include artificial intelligence, assistive technology, eLearning, gaming ranging from theory to design to implementation and sustainability. She also serves as a member of the editorial board and a technical reviewer for local and international journals and conferences.
